1. Wet'n Wild Emerald Pointe

Wet'n Wild Emerald Pointe is part of a chain of water parks and is considered one of the best water parks in the Triangle area. It offers 40 different rides and attractions, including five pools, two shallow pools for children, and one of the largest wave pools in the country. The park spans across 42 acres and is perfect for families and kids of all ages.

In addition to the rides and attractions, there are also numerous dining and shopping options available to visitors. You can find it all here whether you need food, water essentials, or souvenirs. You can enjoy a full day of fun and entertainment at one of the top-rated family water parks in the state.

Located just south of Greensboro, NC, off Business 85 at Holden Road Exit 34, the park offers parking options for everyone, including VIP, standard, accessible parking, and parking for buses and RVs. Things to Know Before Visiting:
  • This park will only accept electronic payments, such as debit cards and credit cards, and mobile payments, like Apple Pay and Google Pay. This is a cashless park. 
  • You can rent a private cabana for the day. 
  • All bags and personal belongings will go through a security screening.
  • One bag per guest is allowed with a maximum size of 15" x 15" x 15". 

2. Fantasy Lake Adventure Park

Fantasy Lake Adventure Park is an exciting underwater experience; where you should definitely visit the scuba diving facility located at a quarry lake. This facility offers diving opportunities and provides training, a park, and camping facilities. The area spans over 100 acres of land and includes four waterfront cabins, chairs, umbrellas, three picnic shelters, and certified divers who offer classes for many water sports.

To enter the park, you must purchase passes online and fill out the waiver before your arrival. Half-day and all-day passes are available, and the park is open until October 1st. If you're searching for a fun-filled day of water activities that will get your adrenaline pumping, this is definitely the place to be. 3. Splash Pad - Fuquay Varina

The Fuquay Varina Splash Pad, located inside South Park, is an excellent destination for a refreshing day in the water. The park is free for residents and charges a nominal fee of $2 per day for non-residents. This 6,000-square-foot splash pad boasts an array of features, such as water guns, dumping buckets, and misting tunnels.

The most popular feature is the large green bucket that fills up and dumps every few minutes, creating a giant waterfall. However, if being drenched in water is not your thing, this may not be the best place for you. This large park is fenced-in and inexpensive, making it perfect for a fun day in the sun. 

Do keep in mind that this park gets busy, and groups will have to take turns. But the good thing is, it's located near many downtown attractions in Fuquay Varina, so you can enjoy them while waiting for your turn to have fun at this water park. 

Remember to bring your proof of residency to get the free Splash Card. If you're not a resident, there is a $2 fee per person. One parent is allowed without charge, while children under the age of 2 are free of charge. All kids under the age of 13 must be supervised.

4. Moore Square Splash Pad

Moore Square is a 4-acre green space in the heart of downtown Raleigh, which serves as a popular gathering and recreational spot for residents. It is one of the five public green spaces in Raleigh and has been a place for reflection, entertainment, and relaxation for many years.

As part of the recent square renovation, a splash pad was built in 2019, adding a family-friendly element to the urban park. This interactive water feature operates daily, weather permitting, and is perfect for those who want to cool off or entertain their kids while enjoying a day in downtown Raleigh.

Located across from the Marbles Kids Museum, the park is open to the public, and admission is free. So, if you are looking for a fun and free way to spend some time outdoors in Raleigh, head to Moore Square and make the most of its facilities.

5. Knightdale Station Park Splash Pad

Knightdale Station Park Splash Pad opened in 2019 and features a 2,000-square-foot splash area with over 20 sprayers. Additionally, there are 1,500 square feet of shaded structures and benches to enjoy. The Splash Pad opens on Monday, May 22nd, and remains open until Monday, September 18th, providing a perfect way to cool off during the summer season.

Admission to the park is free for both residents and non-residents. The park offers a great way to beat the heat and have some fun in the sun. With numerous sprayers available, visitors can also enjoy the steam engine water tower, which highlights the town's railroad roots. The tower is enclosed in a fence with many walking trails, picnic shelters, and playgrounds located nearby for visitors to enjoy.
